...I graduated from High School. Oh. My. Heck. Where in the world has the time gone? I cannot believe 23 years ago I walked across that stage and became a full fledged adult in the real world. It just doesn't seem real. Have I really gotten that old? I can't believe that in 2 years we will be having out 25 year reunion. Oh my is all I can say.
Today was cleaning day. I was so glad, too, because the house really needed it. Dog seems to be shedding again and I can't stand dog hair everywhere. Plus, his dander is really bad lately. I think I need to do some research and find something I can do to moisten his skin more.
The house looked good when it was done and I began making tacos for dinner. It was our night with the missionaries for dinner so I made our traditional missionary dinner. I made 42 tacos. There were 14 left. Elder Beard from Idaho ate 10 of them and Melon Man ate another 10. Elder Gardner from Texas had 5 and I had 3. They were really good and it was nice to meet the new missionaries. Both had served in our area before but they had just been reassigned to our area again and this was the first time we had met them. They shared a very good scripture with us (and since I'm over a week late blogging this I can't remember which one it was!) and then went on their way to continue serving God and those in need of Him.
I refrained from telling the missionary taco story...although I really wanted to but Melon Man says I always tell it, so I didn't. But, I'll tell it now. Back about 12 years ago, the missionaries came for dinner. One of them, a little missionary from Hong Kong named Elder Lam, ate 8 tacos, 2 helpings of refried beans, and dessert. Every time a set of missionaries joined us for dinner after that, it was always a challenge for them to try to eat as many tacos as they could, trying to beat that little missionary. Elder Beard was the first one to actually beat that little Elder Lam! (Well, except Melon Man) Way to go!
