These are the recipes that were used for the meal at the April 10, 2008, Princess Party HFPE.
SHELLY'S SALAD
Biggest tupperware bowl (Thatsa Bowl) full of greens
1 can (the smaller one) cashews or cashew pieces
1 bag chowmein noodles (or 2 cans of the smaller more dainty ones) but it tastes the same either way.
Optional: Strawberry slices
Dressing:
3/4 cup vinegar
1-1/2 cup salad oil
3/4 cup sugar
1-1/2 tsp. grated onion
1-1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. mustard
1-1/2 Tbls. Poppy seeds
Beat ingredients together. Chill. Pour dressing over salad just before serving and toss lightly.
BRUNCH SANDWICHES
2 dozen rolls
16 oz. swiss cheese
1 lb ham slices
Mayo
Sauce:
3 Tbls. mustard
1 tsp. worchestershire sauce
2 cubes butter
1 Tbls. dried minced onion
3 Tbls. poppy seeds
(the sauce will cover 2-1/2 dozen rolls)
Slice rolls, spread with mayo, put one slice of ham and one slice of cheese inside. Close rolls and place on a jelly roll sized cookie sheet. Melt butter, add remaining ingredients, and stir with fork. Brush top of rolls with sauce. Wait for it to dry. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
