So today was the day I went to have the castings done for my orthotics. It was pretty simple actually. The nurse just immersed the casting bandages in a bowl of warm water, wrapped them around my feet, and then let them dry until they were hard.
Then, she gently pulled them off and that was it for my part. Now, they send them off to a lab and I guess some little shoe inserts get made out of them for me. I should have them in about 2 weeks or so. I certainly do hope they help alleviate the pain I'm in. It is torture when when I have to get up in the middle of the night and I take those first few steps. I want to scream out in pain but I don't.
As for an update on my removed toenail...I thought it was doing really well, but apparently it was doing too well. A chunk of skin had grown over the area and was making it kind of uncomfortable. The doctor removed the chunk of skin (much to my eebee-geebee-ness). He said it should make it feel much better in the next few days. I hope so!
