So Full of Emotion Today...

So, today is Sunday and while it should be relaxing and calm, I'm feeling incredibly overwhelmed. I've been so busy doing Super Saturday stuff recently that I have neglected my house incredibly. Although C, Dad, and I worked really hard last weekend to clean up the living room and kitchen areas, we didn't do anything on the office, the scrapbook room, or either bathroom. And, plus, now that SS is over, all of the stuff I took with me to it is now back in my kitchen again.

So, today I'm sitting here thinking about all the laundry that needs to be done, the dishes from when C made 8 dozen cookies earlier in the week, and how awful the office and scrapbook room look. Yet, I have almost no energy to do anything with any of it. Plus, to top it all off, although I love the look of my new wood floors, I HATE the additional work I have to do to keep them looking nice with a big dog. I so WISH that I could keep Koda outside, but he digs and destroys if I do so he stays inside and consequently slobbers all over and gets hair EVERYWHERE. See...look at this gross clump of dog hair under this cabinet in the hallway...

Nobody ever believes me that my house is messy when I tell them it is, so I thought I'd take some pics to prove it.

Dishes needing to be done....
Crap all over the island .... again...

The scrapbook room ... a pig sty.

The new shower door in the guest bathroom...
for the last two months...waiting patiently to be installed.

The ribbon rack in the scrapbook room needing to be re-wound...

The laundry piling up...

The ever-growing piles in the office...

The trash in the office is overflowing...

REALLY...DOES ANYONE HAVE A PHONE NUMBER FOR A CHEAP, BUT EXCELLENT, MAID?!?!?

As for the touch of God's hand in my life, today WAS pretty good. In Sacrament meeting, we had a missionary farewell for the Bishop's son and our resident missionaries spoke along with Zach. The first touch came from the opening hymn. Normally, our ward hardly sings at all, but either there were a ton of people there today or the song just was inspiring. We sang "Called to Serve" - of course, a total missionary song - and it was really quite loud compared to normal. I thought a lot about the MTC and how it must feel when thousands of missionaries start singing that song all at once. How powerful the Spirit must be. I bet that if I were there as a missionary and that happened, I would definitely start crying because I would be overwhelmed with the Spirit.

The opening song in RS was "Love at Home". It brought back memories of Mom singing it every time we kids would fight. We all hated it when she would do that, but it always seemed to make us laugh. The RS teacher today even had the same experience. Is this something that parents seek out to do to torture their children? I used to tell Mom that I hated that song and that I would never do that to my kids. Well, I guess I must have progressed in my adulthood because a few years ago I had "There is Beauty All Around, When There's Love at Home" painted on my kitchen wall!

I've got to go make dinner now (where?) and then I'll wrap up the rest of the day...

Oh, My. You are right. I have never seen your house like that! Take a breath and just 'eat the elephant' one bite at a time. It will be picked up before you know it!
