Ok, Jennifer, I see your point! I was just so peeved when I got home and got that piece of mail that I had to vent. I drive through our neighborhood and see the houses that are looking run down and I'm sure the people that live there must get violation warnings - at least I hope they do - but a violation because I left my recycle bin outside overnight? That just seemed excessive and it ticked me off. I was so irritated that I even found the lady's email address and typed up a not so nice email to her! But...then I accidentally clicked on discard instead of draft and it disappeared. I guess it just wasn't worth it. So...Jenn, thanks for helping bring me back to reality and be grateful that it was just a violation, not a fine, and to be grateful for all the other things in this world that do make me happy, joyful, and likable.
On a happier note...the missionaries just called to remind me that it's our turn to have them for dinner tomorrow. Hmmm...what shall I make? Normally, it's the standard taco dinner for them...but I'm taco'ed out, I think. So...maybe a meatloaf or something else meaty...apparently they are carnivores as Elder Lamb put it. Guess I'd better think fast before C leaves work so he can pick up what I need! So grateful to be able to provide a meal to the Lord's servants! (Thanks again, Jenn) Update: We ended up having spaghetti, garlic bread, and salad. I made Mom's spaghetti - which is the ONLY kind I like - but I have since learned and added a twist to it. I now use mild italian sausage in it rather than hamburger. I LOVE the flavor it gets from the sausage. The only thing missing for the dinner was a dollop or two of sour cream. I know....weird. But, I LOVE a little sour cream mixed in my sauce and pasta (on my own plate, of course). It just makes it kind of creamy, sort of like a bolognese sauce, and actually helps reduce the acidity of the tomatoes and bell peppers, which I struggle with now that I'm getting OLDER (yuck, hate that!). The missionaries really liked the spaghetti and there was hardly any left to take for work the next day.

Oh I know exactly where you are coming from. Our neighbor left a HUGE trailer parked on the street in front of his house for 3 weeks and they did nothing. We had our little tent trailer here overnight and got a warning. Maybe your house just stands out because it does always look nice so when something is amiss people notice more?
You put peppers in your spaghetti sauce??? Your mom HATED them in spaghetti sauce! I was babysitting all you little kids at Mamo's while the adults were all out for the day and I made spaghetti for dinner for everyone and put them in because my mom told me to put peppers in it and your mom came and YELLED at me right in Mamo's kitchen on Truxton! "I HATE those. You have RUINED our whole dinner. I can't eat one bite of this now!" and then she went and sulked and didn't eat. As you can see, I still remember that.
