Pioneer Children Sang As They Walked and Walked and Walked

Part of my family leaves today on a pioneer trek. I am so freakin' jealous!!! I have always wanted to go on Trek, but I've never been asked to go. I wonder why.

Is it because those in charge think I couldn't do it because of my weight? Because that's not true. Nobody knows, but me, if I could handle it. I bet I could keep up with everyone just as well as the next person. It is the drive and determination that I have to do it that would keep me going.

Is it because I work? Well, I DO have vacation time to use every year....

Is it because I don't fit in with the group that always gets to go? Probably. It's just one of those things, I guess. It's the same with those that get to go to Girls' Camp. I don't match the mold or fit into that crowd there either, so that's probably why. It just seems unfair that there are people who don't even hold positions in the ward that relate to the youth (for Youth Trek and Girls' Camp) that get asked to go every time - just because of who they are and what group they associate with. It kind of sucks because I would love to do these things. But, oh well, I guess.

Hopefully, my siblings and their families will have a great spiritual experience while on their trek and will post a lot of pictures for me to see when they come home so I can experience it vicariously through them.

You have so many talents if only others knew how talented you are, I am sure that you too would be called. I would never aspire to any position, because the one you are least good at is the one they always call you to.

I wasn't aspiring to any of those positions - I was just saying how I'm never even considered because I don't fit in to "the group" that always gets asked to help. It always seems like the same people or group of people get to do them because they are the "in" group.
