My Favorite Birthday Dinner

Chicken Fricassee.  Love it.  Can't get enough of it.  Hardly ever get it.  Had it.  Ate it.  Loved it.

As mentioned in a previous post, Auntie wasn't too happy with my birthday "plans" so she insisted that we have a regular birthday celebration dinner with the whole Arizona famn damily.  So we did.  And, she made my favorite birthday dinner for me.  It was SO good.  I just LOVE chicken fricassee.  Although...I like my gravy REALLY vinegar-y and so we always have to put the bottle of vinegar out for me so I can add more to the gravy.
Chicken Fricassee was a dish that my grandmother learned to make when she was a governess.  It is french and is actually a meal that Melon Man also likes.  I've never been a huge fan of the chicken because the skin was always soft and wrinkly, but today I horked it down (ate it all up) because it was just so good as well.
Lisa made this excellent salad as well.  Yum - love salad!
The best part of the meal to me is the noodles and gravy.  The gravy is sweet and sour - it's a fine balance between sugar and vinegar.  Yum.  So good.  I can taste it now!
After dinner, we had yummy cake made by Linda.
No...the vinegar does not go with the cake too.

There was just enough for everyone...all gone!
After cake, I opened presents and received a gift card for Catherines, a beautiful oval cake plate/platter, and, of course, the dinner!  I was so appreciative of everyone for taking the time to remember my birthday!

Funny that is one of your favorites! I can't stand it. I always hated it when mom made it for dinner. Yuck!
